2. How to confirm the application was received by HKIC?

For card course, HKIC will inform applicant for application confirmed and course arrangement via SMS seperately. 
For certificate course, HKIC will seperately inform applicant for course arrangement via email.

3. How to apply for the Green Card Courses?

Green Card (New card) and Green Card (Revalidation) Training Courses are suspended for new application since November 2021. If you want to apply for related Green Card Courses, you may consider other training course providers recognised by the Commissioner for Labour.

4. How to replace Green Card issued by the Construction Industry Council?

If the Green Card has been lost, the applicant needs to report your lost card to police station first, and bring along Identity Card and the Hong Kong Police report of lost/stolen property which states clearly the lost Safety Card was issued by the Construction Industry Council, to apply for a replacement Safety Card at Construction Workers Registration Service Centres or Safety Training Department of HKIC.  A replacement fee of $50 will be charged.

3. How to apply for the Green Card Courses?

Confined Spaces Courses
5. What is the admission requirement of Confined Space Safety Training Course for Certified Workers Engaged in DSD’s Works (DCW)?

Holding a valid certificate of Certified Workers of Confined Spaces Operation on the day of class commencement.

6. What is the admission requirement of Confined Space Safety Training Course for Competent Persons Engaged in DSD’s Works (DCP)?

Holding a valid certificate of Certified Workers of Confined Spaces Operation for over 1 year; or a Registered Safety Officer and experience of confined space risk assessment for over 1 year on the day of class commencement..

7. Any English course available for Safety Training Course for Top-Up to Competent Persons of Confined Spaces Operation (CYP)?

We don’t offer English course for CYP, please enquire to other training course providers.

8. What trades do the Silver Card Course offered?

9. When do the course of Rigger and Signaller A12S & A12S-M2 start?

This course is offered regularly.  Due to the large number of applicants, there is a waiting time of at least 6 months for the course.  It is advised to apply first if you are interested. You will be notified by SMS when the course schedule is confirmed.

10. When the course of Rigger A12 does starts?

This course is offered regularly. Due to the large number of applicants, there is a waiting time of at least 3 months for the course.  It is advised to apply first if you are interested.  You will be notified by SMS when the course schedule is confirmed.

11. What is the admission requirements for Construction Materials Rigger (A12/R12) / Rigger and Signaller (A12S/R12S)?
Silver Card Courses Admission Requirements
Construction Materials Rigger (A12) Any persons
Construction Materials Rigger Revalidation (R12) Must have a valid A12 Silver Card.
Applicants can submit application up to 6 months before the expiry date or within 3 months of the expiry date.
Rigger and Signaller A12S Applicants who can write in Chinese and communicate in Cantonese
Signaller A12S-M2 Must have a valid A12 Silver Card, who can write in Chinese and communicate in Cantonese
Rigger and Signaller Revalidation (R12S)
**To be commenced in Q2 2023**
Must have a valid A12S Silver Card.
Applicants can submit application up to 6 months before the expiry date or within 3 months of the expiry date.
Certificate Courses
12. When will the construction site safety training and guidance skills course (ESSZ), occupational safety management course (OSMZ), soil nailing safety operation certificate (SNDZ), and safe construction procedure course (SWMZ) start? Are there any English classes?

The above courses do not often have new classes, and the class will only start when the number of applicants reaches a certain standard (20 people). If you are interested, it is recommended to apply first. You will be notified when classes start. There is no English class in the above courses.

13. Trainee Engineer Safety Course (Civil, Structure and Building) (GESZ), Safety Training Skills Course (STTZ), Basic Accident Prevention Course (BASZ), Safety Management Plan Preparation and Practice Course (SPIZ), Industrial Safety Regulations and Latest Development Courses (SLDZ) – When will the above courses start?

The above courses do not often have new classes, and the class will only start when the number of applicants reaches a certain standard (20 people). If you are interested, it is recommended to apply first. You will be notified when classes start.

14. What are the requirements for the Construction Industry Safety Supervisor Certificate (CSSZ)?

Entrance requirements: Educational background or work certificate (if no Secondary 5 or above)
Proof of qualifications
- Possess HKCEE/DSE or equivalent (certified copy required for proof);
- If the applicant is over 23 years old but fails to meet the minimum entry requirements, another entrance examination will be arranged;
- When an application is received, the applicant will be contacted by email. *Entrance examination is conducted in Chinese.
Proof of employment
- 3 years relevant work experience certificate (eg site, engineering, decoration company);
- A letter from the employer is required (Eg company seal or signature of the employer);
* Students who have obtained the "Certificate of Construction Site Safety Supervision Skills" only need to enroll in Unit 4 and Unit 5
- Teaching language: Lectures are taught in Cantonese (supplemented by English), and teaching materials are written in Chinese (no English class)
- Hours and teaching format: 43 hours, taught in units (M1-M5)
- Course start date: You can choose the class time for evening courses: Monday, Thursday or Tuesday, Friday (night) or daytime courses: Saturday (whole day);
Evening courses: two nights a week (18:30-22:00), day courses: every Saturday

15. What are the requirements and instructions for enrolling in the Safety Training Course for Site Managers (SMSZ)?

Entrance requirements: Currently working as a manager of the construction site

Application Notes
- Upon receipt of the application, the applicant will be contacted by email;
- Applicants who meet specific qualifications can apply for exemption of the corresponding unit. For details, please refer to the exemption qualifications in the application form. When submitting the registration form, it must be submitted together with relevant supporting documents;
- Able to arrange classes will be notified by phone or email;
- Hours and teaching format: the total hours are 27 hours, taught in units (M1-M5)
Evening course: Tuesday, Thursday (evening) or day course: Friday or Saturday (full day);
Evening courses: two nights a week (18:30-22:00), day courses: one day a week (09:00-17:00).

16. What are the requirements and instructions for enrolling in the Safety Training Recertification Course for Site Managers (SMSR)?

Entrance requirements: Holders of the "Safety Training Course for Site Management Personnel" certificate issued by the Construction Industry Council/Construction Industry Training Authority/Hong Kong Institute of Construction Training Institute) or the Occupational Safety and Health Council for 5 years or more Application Notes:
- When an application is received, the applicant will be contacted by email.
- Able to arrange classes will be notified by phone or email.
- Hours and teaching format: the total hours are 7 hours
- Evening course: two nights (18:30-22:00), day course: one day (09:00 – 17:00)

17. What are the requirements and instructions for enrolling in the Advanced Course for Construction Industry Safety Supervisors (SSR)?

Admission requirements: application notes for those who have held the "Construction Industry Safety Supervisor Certificate" issued by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (Construction Industry Council/Construction Industry Training Authority/Hong Kong Institute of Construction Training Institute) or Occupational Safety and Health Council for 5 years or more
- When an application is received, the applicant will be contacted by email.
- Able to arrange classes will be notified by phone.
- Hours and teaching format: the total hours are 12 hours
- Evening courses: four nights (18:30-21:30), day courses: two days (09:00 – 16:00)
